The world is a movie. Brandon Wronski is writing the soundtrack. Will you listen?

Embarking on their first full-length venture, Eye Alaska stands to make genres obsolete with Genesis Underground. Front-man Wronski was quoted with saying “...in a generation of iPods, shuffle mode, and mix tapes at the click of a button, the genre is going to be a thing of the past in the music of the future...” It's not long into the album when everything falls into perspective. Genesis Underground, while at first glance appears to be an immense identity crisis, slowly blossoms into a sonic playground to which one can't help but frolic in. Leave all assumptions at the door because Genesis Underground rocks and grooves like no other.

The album begins with the pop tinged rocker “Walk Like A Gentleman" - catchy for all the right reasons, the song digs it's hook in deep and fast, all in the mean time bringing forward the vocal powerhouse that is Mr. Wronski. As the album progresses we are met with “Miles Don't Mean Anything,” an emotional ballad which begins with a lone acoustic guitar intertwined with ambiance and soothing vocals. With the utmost of ease, Brandon's words tug at every fiber of the heart. Some may already be familiar with the likes of “Roll Right Over,” which was featured on the band's 2008 release, Yellow And Elephant, which saw a slight face lift for the release of Genesis Underground. The album is brought to a near close with “My Soul, My Surrender,” a soulful, high-energy ending to this exuberant outing.

Genesis Underground finds the band mixing with a multitude of genres and emotions, and they do it exceptionally well. Though the album has a few mild annoyances (the “playful” introduction to “Show Me DaLuv” and “Star Pilot” come to mind), they are brief and just as quickly shrugged off. Ultimately, Genesis Underground allows the listener to peer further into the intricate mind of Eye Alaska and join them on this genre obliterating, emotional roller coaster of an album. Enjoy the ride, and kiss your genres goodbye.

For Brandon Wronski of Eye Alaska, the world is his movie, and he wants to write its soundtrack.
Coining the Orange County, California-based group’s eclectic, multi-genre sound as “cinematic rock,” Wronski and bandmates create intricate tracks that mesh and intertwine to form individual parts of a greater story - different scenes for their celluloid masterpiece. For their debut full-length, Genesis Underground, Eye Alaska continues the grandiose-yet-meticulous delivery they’ve adopted as their signature sound.
