What is Review Rinse Repeat?
Review Rinse Repeat is a music website. Our Mission Statement can tell you more about us.
Who is Review Rinse Repeat?
Review Rinse Repeat is the sum of all its parts.
Q: So, you write reviews, eh? What are your policies for coverage?
A: We generally tend to work independently, and decide what we want to cover ourselves, based on our tastes and what we perceive will interest readers. We do accept limited amounts of unsolicited material for review, however, we cannot guarantee it will be covered. In simple terms: If we ask for it, it will definitely be covered. If we don’t ask for it, it may or may not be covered.
Q: I work for a label/publicity agency, and we’d like to work with Review Rinse Repeat. How do we go about it?
A: Contact us, and tell us about your company, and how you would like to work with us. Please consider whether your clients are stylistically suitable for Review Rinse Repeat. In other words, save yourselves and us the time if your roster consists of country artists doing j-rap covers.
Q: How do I increase the likelihood of my material being reviewed?
A: Give us incentives to cover it - provide us with sufficient time to prepare a review in time for the release date, ensure the review will be externally linked after it is posted, and offer us an exclusive!
Q: So, how do we get our music to you?
We’re old and traditional, so we favor physical CDs. However, our priority is to get a review completed as soon we can, so to save time and money, we will accept digital downloads and streams (preferably watermarked). Again, the nicer you are to us, the better your chances of us being nice to you! Our primary mailing address for physical CDs, is below - tell us before you send anything please!

PO Box 46
Weeping Water, NE 68463
USA
(If you are based in the UK, a UK mailing address will be provided upon request)
Q: So, if you do decide to review the CD we sent you, can you guarantee my label’s band/my band will get a positive review?
A: Absolutely not. We have a responsibility to our readers to articulate honesty through our reviews. If it’s bad, we’ll say it’s bad. (Hint: If you know it’s bad, it’s probably better you save both our time and yours, and don’t send it to us - unless we asked for it, of course!). We will under no circumstances remove a review.
Q: My band is unsigned. How can I get my band to take part in an Unsigned Spotlight feature?
A: Simple. Contact us, and we’ll send over the details you’ll need to take part in the feature. Be aware that high demand for this feature means that we cannot accommodate every single MySpace band with 5000 page views. Being talented is a requirement, and having ‘some’ notable achievements to your name - previous/upcoming releases, tour history, etc, will help your case also!
Q: Could you review my band’s/label’s artist’s old album?
A: If we haven’t already covered it, in all honesty, it’s probably a ‘no’. We have a limited staff team, and the team is focused on covering current releases. Exceptions may be made in exceptional circumstances - we need to really really really like you though. However, if we like you, we’ll definitely consider adding any upcoming releases to our coverage schedule!
Q: Why don’t you cover [insert artist name here]?
A: Simply put, we cover what we want to (and logistically can) cover. There are certain artists with which we simply see no merit in covering. Let us know if you would like to see us covering any artists; any feedback is always appreciated.
Q: I am interested in a challenge. How do I go about applying for a position on the RRR staff team? Are you seeking to hire anyone?
A: Our Staff Vacancies page has details of all open positions, and how to apply for them. Good luck!
Q: How do I advertise on Review Rinse Repeat? How much?
A: Contact us, with details about your company and how you would like to advertise. Pricing depends on the type of ad, other details pertaining to the ad, and how long you would like to keep it on the site.
Q: How does the site’s commenting system work?
A: If you wish to comment, there are two ways of doing so. You can simply leave your name, email (both required) and website (not required), and your message, or alternatively (and we encourage this) you can connect to the site using your Facebook account. More details on connecting to the site via Facebook can be found here.
Q: What are the rules with regards to commenting?
A: We encourage a range of opinions, and tolerance of others’ opinions. While not wanting to restrict expression of opinions and thoughts, we do have some very basic rules though. We strictly will not tolerate flaming, trolling, or spamming, and we kindly ask that you refrain from using expletives unnecessarily.
Q: I posted a comment, but I want to delete/edit it. How can I do that?
A: Just leave another comment below it, saying what you would like to occur, and if your request is deemed reasonable, a staff member will apply any changes as soon as possible.
Q: I have a question/concern/complaint/some feedback. How can I get my issue addressed?
A: We care greatly what our readers think. Contact us, and we’ll consider and converse your query, and we’ll probably get back to you too.
Q: I did an interview with Review Rinse Repeat, and I don’t remember saying something you’ve quoted me as saying. What can I do?
A: Most of our live interviews are conducted in loud, awkward places. We try as much as humanly possible to ensure that our interviews are accurate, but sometimes, we make mistakes. If you have an issue, contact us. We keep the sound files from every live interview we’ve ever done, and we’ll happily send you the file, so that you can review any errors. Fair?
Q: How much money does the site make?
A: Less than an average hobo. We do it for the love.
Q: What is your policy on news?
A: We aim to make our news factual and relevant. We don’t post trivial news (too much), and we generally stray away from posting rumors. Particularly with rumors, we always will always link external references, unless it is publicly available news, such as tour dates or album details.
Q: Can I submit news to Review Rinse Repeat?
A: Yes. Contact us. We cannot guarantee we will post anything.
Q: How does the site’s rating system work?
A: Our rating system is quite simple; but we’ve explained it in detail here, just for good measure.
Q: Who are the staff? How are they hired?
A: Our staff team consists of music lovers, and able writers. They are often people who have either been recommended to us, or have applied for a position.
Q: How many times do you listen to an album before attempting to write a review?
A. This varies from writer to writer, but we encourage our writers to spin an album at least 6-7 spins before starting a review.
Q: How do you choose Featured Artist and Album Of The Week? Why is [insert artist name here] featured?
A: We look at the releases that hit stores that week, and decide what our favorite artist and favorite album is. It’s simply a staff thing.
Q: Did you get paid to promote/feature [insert artist name here]?
A: We have never taken any money in return anything other than ads. However, if you’d like to pay us to give your band a positive review, please send your CD, along with $500 in cash to the mailing address provided above.
Q: I wish to post a review from Review Rinse Repeat on my site, can I do that?
As long as you cite us (website and writer), we are fine with excerpts from our reviews being shared externally. We ask that you refrain from copying entire reviews onto external sites however. We will not view any plagiarism favorably, and will take action.
