We're North of the City, and we're a Pop Punk band from Pennsylvania. We are Chris, Nick, Ace, and Dylan. We formed in 2009. We started this band to play music that we love, but put our own little spin on it - mostly Ace's ridiculous drumming and Dylan's shredding lead guitar style.
Our influences range from The All American Rejects and Cartel to a lot of random guitar oriented classic rock. Our story is simple, myself (Chris) and Nick are brothers and we've been making music since we were early teenagers. Ace is our best friend, ad he's known Dylan since he was young. Ace's mom and Dylan's uncle play in a classic rock cover band together so it was only right to have Dylan in our little family.
We just recorded an EP with Rob Freeman who was in one of my favorite bands Hidden in Plain View. It was amazing to work with him and he really helped us hone our vision as a whole. We're not the most normal group of guys, so Rob had to get used to there being a lot of male nudity around (mostly due to Nick). It was a general rule that if you didn't have at least boxers on you weren't allowed in the control room. It was a deep and cathartic experience and he [Rob] really pushed us to our limits as musicians.
Our current happenings are that we just finished our EP Swear on the Stars and it's slated for an early October release and we will be doing regional shows until we tour in support of the EP in the winter of '10-11 and it's full throttle from then on!
